Coaching, Mentorship and Reverse-mentorship

I’ve coached and mentored several people in and around the games industry. My mentees have mostly been people with a technical background or tech-adjacent professions. At EA I was lucky to have a great mentor and I want others to benefit from a similar experience. My approach is one of empathic listening and candid discussion.

The line between mentorship and coaching can be blurry with numerous overlapping topics. The main distinction I make is that coaching is more structured and focused on goals and outcomes. Mentorship, on the other hand, is less formal. We can explore disparate topics and switch focus more organically. I also offer reversed mentorship to managers and executives looking for a different perspective.

Some tips to help you prepare for a session:

• Make the questions and problems to discuss as concrete as possible
• Preparing a comprehensive description can help frame the topic for yourself and communicate it more clearly
• What are you looking to take away from the session?

My goal is to provide insightful input on your career discussion and, in return, learn from your unique perspective. I offer a free introduction session to see if we are a good match. I offer reduced rates for reoccurring commitments and anyone who is part of a marginalized group.
